Jim Givigliano, 81, of Trinidad, Colorado, passed away on April 20, 2024. He was born in Trinidad on June 19, 1942 to Angelo and Irene Givigliano.
Jim was a fiercely independent man and a natural-born builder. Known for his remarkable construction skills, he picked up and moved his in-laws’ home from Sopris to Capitol Hill prior to the construction of Trinidad Lake. That home still stands today and was the first of several buildings that he relocated in and around Trinidad through the years. A master operator of heavy equipment, Jim constructed numerous septic systems, home foundations, and private roads in Las Animas County. His can-do attitude and willingness to help others earned him the reputation of being the go-to person to conquer the most challenging building sites.
In his leisure time, Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and playing the guitar and fiddle. His passion for music brought joy to many.
Jim is survived by his brother, Frank Givigliano, wife Connie Givigliano, children, Sandra Givigliano, Steve Givigliano, Wendi and Matt Reamy, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Angelo Givigliano, son, James Brian Givigliano, mother, Irene Givigliano, daughter-in-law, Ann Marie Givigliano, and brother, Roger Givigliano.
A visitation in memory of Jim will be held at Comi Chapel in Trinidad, CO, on May 17th from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Jim’s legacy of resilience, hard work, and generosity will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
