David Madrid Obituary 

With heavy hearts and devout spirits, we announce that David Felipe Jose Madrid has been called to the Lord's side, departing from this earthly realm on the 7th of August, 2023, at the age of 73. Born on the 25th of January, 1950, in Springer, New Mexico, to parents Mike and Sofia Madrid, David was a man of immense talent and an unwavering passion for the melodic art.

As a lifelong professional musician, David's mastery of the bass and guitar, coupled with his soulful voice, brought joy to many and earned him respect and admiration within his community. His music was not just entertainment; it was an expression of his zest for life, which he shared abundantly with all.

David's memory will be treasured as one imbued with pride, wit, artistry, and intellect. His legacy is one of enduring love and music that will resound in the hearts of those who knew him.

Survived by his adoring daughters Marla Madrid Luciano, Sophina Madrid, Rebecca Harwell, son Sebastian (Tameka) Madrid, and his cherished grandchildren Lorna and Alec Luciano, Johnny Ray , Reynaldo, and Meliseo Contreras. David's memory will be treasured by his siblings Lillian Apodaca, Mike Madrid Jr. (Sandy), Orlando Madrid (Corine), Lucille Vigil (Vincent), Josephine Sanchez (Tom), Leo Madrid (Mary), Martha Montoya (Alfonso), Margaret Montoya (Joe), Eddie Madrid (Diana), James Madrid, Georganna Rose (Jeff), and Gerald Madrid (Kathy). Along with his sisters-in-law Louella and Cecilia Madrid, he will be fondly remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He now joins in peace his parents, Mike and Sofia Madrid, his brothers George, Benny, Juan, and Pete, his sister Priscilla, Brother-in-law, Arthur Apodaca
Sisters-in-law Joanne, Margie and Carol Madrid who preceded him in death.

The services to bid farewell to David Felipe Jose Madrid will be held on Saturday, May 4 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Springer. A rosary will be offered in his memory at 10:00 am, followed by the Holy Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. The interment shall follow posthaste, where David will be laid to rest, and a reception at St. Joseph’s Hall will conclude the day's observances.

The Madrid family appreciates the outpouring of prayer and support during this time of bereavement. May David find peace in the arms of our Creator, and may his soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
