Gloria Jean Ortiz was born in Raton, New Mexico in 1944, to Fred and Zalma Ortiz. She was raised in Raton and continued to live there for 62 years where she was married and raised her four children. In 2005 she moved to Pueblo West, Colorado to be near her children. Gloria lived her life to the fullest. She was so many personalities wrapped up into one. She had a big caring heart and a shining soul for her Lord, her family, and her friends. She loved the outdoors, her flowers, and the sun shining on her face, her Rottweiler dogs, and her dog Zoya. Most of all, Gloria truly loved her family with all her heart. She would drop everything to help anyone in need. Jerry, “Beaver” Baca was her companion for 12 years. Their relationship was filled with many happy memories. She was involved in many groups throughout her life; CASA volunteer, Secretary of New Mexico Credit Union and chosen employee of the year, New Mexico Bowling Association, she was a Liberty Point board member, served as head hostess at Flower Aviation, and a proud member of Majestic Church of Pueblo West.
