Charles Virgil Webster was born January 15, 1947, in their home north of Logan,
New Mexico to his parents Josie Pearl Johnston-Webster and Oscar Webster.
Surrounded by his loving family he passed away at his home in Mosquero on
January 29, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Wilburn Webster (Helen), and his
sisters Nona Dee Bennett (Orel) and Evelyn D. Pressley.
He is survived by his wife Lydia Webster, children, Amy Russell (Matt) of Oklahoma,
Jarrod Wester (Trilby) of Clayton, Daniel Webster (Audry) of Ocate, Joshua
Webster (Amanda) of Las Vegas, 16 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; as
well as his brother D.W. Webster (Kathy) of Oklahoma, and Brother-in-law Tommy
Pressley (Evelyn) of Texas, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Charles graduated from Logan High School. He spent his life employed by many
different occupations, including union Millwright/Carpenter, NMDOT(Clayton),
school bus driver in Wagon Mound and Mosquero, Rancher, and Well service owner
and operator. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He was involved
in his community as an active member of the Mesa Soil and Water Conservation
and a member of USDA-FSA Harding County Committee, as well as the volunteer Fire
Department in both Ocate and Rosebud.
Charley was a loving husband of more than 50 years, and a fun-loving father,
father-in-law, and grandfather. Charley made friends quickly and was considered a
friend by people in many communities including Logan, Mosquero, Wagon Mound,
Clayton, Ocate, Aztec, New Mexico and Canyon, Texas.
Services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Logan Church of
Christ. Burial to follow at the Mosquero Cemetery.
