Tommy Ricketson, Age 84 of Amistad, New Mexico passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024, in Dalhart, Texas
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the Amistad Methodist Church in Amistad, New Mexico with Pastor Kenneth W. Tidmore, officiating. Burial will follow in the Amistad Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Lunch will be served at the church after the graveside services.
Tommy Ricketson was born on February 27, 1939, in Amistad, New Mexico to Homer Ricketson and Norma (Stelle) Ricketson. He will be remembered as a beloved rancher, a dedicated school bus driver, and a committed member of the Amistad Hayden Fire Department. Tommy was married to Sue (Thomas) Ricketson for 48 years, together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. The memory of Tommy will be cherished by all who knew him. Tommy’s kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Homer Ricketson in 1989, mother, Norma Ricketson in 1994, a son, Matthew Ricketson in 1980, 2 brothers, Homer “Bud” Ricketson, Jr. In 1969 and David Ricketson in 1989, a sister, Rena Lou Parman in 2014, 2 brothers-in-law, Carroll Krahn in 2020 and Billy Parman in 2018 and a sister-in-law, Anna Ruth Ricketson in 2018. His pallbearers are Walter Parman, Justin Osborn, Norman Stull, Jeff Ricketson, Jarrett Ricketson, Kris Krahn, Kevin Ricketson, and Dustin Nials and his family, friends, and neighbors will serve as honorary pallbearers.

WIFE: Sue Ricketson of Amistad, New Mexico.
2 SONS: Troy Ricketson and his wife Alma of Waterford, Michigan, and Andy Ricketson of Logan, New Mexico.
5 GRANDCHILDREN: Jillian and Josh of Michigan and Marcus, Stefanee, and Desarae of Clovis, New Mexico.
9 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Brooklyn, Haven, Teryn, Onyx, and Kyla of Michigan and Elyjuh, Bentlee, Willow, and Sophia of Clovis, New Mexico.
4 SISTERS: Erma Jeane Krahn and Eunice Crist both of Dalhart, Texas, Jo Ann Nials and her husband Ray of Tucumcari, New Mexico and Marilyn Hemphill and her husband Jack of Amarillo, Texas.
1 BROTHER: Allan Ricketson and his wife Cheryl of Dalhart, Texas.

I know one day we will all see this wonderful man in heaven again. Tommy was such an extraordinary person and always knew how to make you smile. We all have so many wonderful memories with him and will always cherish them!
I still remember all the sweet memories of Tommy being our bus driver at Amistad when I was young. He had the kindest heart and best smile!!
