Nona Jean Myers

Jeannie Myers, 92, a longtime Raton, New Mexico resident, passed away Tuesday morning, October 31, 2023, at North Shore Rehab in Loveland, Colorado.
The daughter of Frank and Nona Berry, she was born September 03, 1931, in Raton, New Mexico. She graduated from St. Pats High School with the class of 1947. Jeannie then attended and graduated from Mount Saint Scholastica Academy in Atchison, Kansas, with a degree in Education. She married the love of her life, George Myers, on July 05, 1953, in Raton, New Mexico.
Jeannie and George raised their five children in Hoehne and the ranch on Raton Pass. She was a member of New Mexico Cowbells and a lifetime member of the Blue Bell Hobbie Club. Her other love was quilting. She spent many days making beautiful quilts for family and friends. She spent her last five years in Loveland, CO, living with her son Bill and wife Jackie.
Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Nona, her husband, George, and sisters Catherine Atwater and Eleanor Krusi. Brothers Pat Berry, Kenny Berry, and Jim Berry. One son, Robbie Myers, and a great-grandson, Caleb Larson.
Survivors include two sons, Kenney Myers and wife Armida of Aurora, Colorado, and Bill Myers, and Wife Jackie of Loveland, Colorado. Three daughters, Gorjean Larson and husband Gary, of Amarillo, Texas, Joan Hane and husband Dick of Fruita, Colorado, and Carol Carahan and husband Chet, of Richland, Oregon. Twelve grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. One brother, Buddy Berry, and wife Shirley of Torrington, Wyoming.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be November 17, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St Patrick’s- St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Raton, N.M. recited by Frank Cimino followed by the Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 a.m. with Father Bill Woytavich as the Celebrant. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton. Family visitation will be at the Ice House in Raton after the services.
Funeral arrangements for Nona Jean Myers (Jeannie) are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
Memorials can be given to St. Patrick’s- St. Joseph’s Church in her name.
