Dorothy E. Washington age 71, of Roy, New Mexico, passed away on Monday, October 30th under the care of MCMC Hospital in Raton, New Mexico. Dorothy was born June 16th, 1952 in Atglen, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Theodore R. Mason and Blanche E. Miller. Lovingly known as Ellen, she graduated from Octorara High School in 1971. Ellen worked many jobs before starting a career at the Veterans Hospital in Coatesville, Pennsylvania that would last for over 30 years. Enjoyed sports and was a fan of the Philadelphia teams. She enjoyed watching old western TV shows and Hallmark movies and doing puzzles and paintings by numbers. She was a collector of crystal figurines. Ellen was known for making her Hawaiian wedding cake for family functions.
Ellen is survived by her sister Patricia Mason of Roy, New Mexico, Carol Mathis, Atglen, Pennsylvania, Joan Dunham, Oxford, Pennsylvania, Denise Williams, Sicklerville, New Jersey. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ellen is preceded in death by her parents Theodore R. Mason and Blanch E. Mason, her former husband Ralph Washington, her sons Andre’ and James, her brothers Richard and Theodore Mason, and sisters Mary Mason Burns and Margaret Mason. Ellen will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held on November 10th, interment will be at Abdul Qabid ( Private Cemetery).
