In Loving Memory of Kenneth Wayne Lobb

Kenneth Wayne Lobb

( March 05, 1945 – October 17, 2023 )

Kenneth (Ken) Wayne Lobb was born on March 5, 1945, to Reuben and Doris (Steen) Lobb, in Clayton, NM. Ken was a victim of cancer which he battled for two years. He passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on October 17, 2023, with his loving wife, Rosemarie, by his side at their home in Raton, NM.

Ken is survived by his wife, Rosemarie, and their three children, Martina, Steven, and James. He is also survived by two brothers, Eugene (Gene) of Everett, Washington, and David (Dave) of Atlanta, GA. Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Eleanor of Douglas, Isle of Man, in the Irish Sea, and several nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William (Billy), and his brother Robert (Bobby). Also preceding him are his grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Ken graduated from Raton High School and went on to join the U.S. Navy. After his tour of duty in the Navy, he also joined the U.S. Army for another tour of duty, which included service in Germany where he met his wife, Rosemarie. Returning to Raton with Rosemarie after his military service, he worked mainly doing self-employed jobs in carpentry and beautiful handmade furniture fabrication. He also spent a few years as the Maintenance Manager at the Nursing Home in Raton. He provided a secure and happy home for Rosemarie and their children.

Ken was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying the New Mexico hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing activities. Ken and Rosemarie had several great dogs over the years that they loved. He would take them on his hiking and camping trips in the mountains.

He was also an aviation enthusiast and loved being a pilot and flying airplanes. He hand-built several small aircraft which he flew and then sold or traded for an upgrade. His mastery of workmanship and excellent craftsmanship was evident in the planes he built and flew.

Ken will be remembered in our hearts as a wonderful man who always treated people in a kind way with a good heart. A special thank you goes to Robin Pilley who helped him through his final days in such a loving and professional manner, and to Kallista Dorrance also for her kindness and helping with Ken’s mobility issues during his last days.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in the near future in Raton.

Arrangements for Kenneth Wayne Lobb are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
