The list of candidates is out and the races in Raton proper all have three or more candidates so it could be an interesting election. Click the link to see the entire list (Colfax County Candidate List Pending for the November 7, 2023 Election)
Looking through the list of candidates there are only three races that are not contested, the Maxwell School Board where Mary Lou Kern is unopposed and in Cimarron Charlie Duran is unopposed in the municipal judge’s position. Lance Lacey is unopposed in the Springer Municipal Judge’s race. The remainder of the races all have two or three or more candidates especially since all of the races except the Raton City Commission races in Raton.
The total count was 60 candidates for this year’s election.
