Francis M. Montano, 68, passed away April 8, 2023. He was born June 18, 1954, to Reuben and Esmeralda (Maes) Montano who precede him in death along with brother, Andres Montano; nephews, Robert “Mutley” Montano and Adam Montano; great-nephew, Diego Dominguez. Francis graduated from Trinidad High School. He retired from Burlington Railroad after 17 years of service. He took great pride in his yard, keeping it immaculate, and always manicuring it. He enjoyed watching UFC fights and Gold Rush. He loved to cook for his children, he made the best potatoes and red chili; he also had quite the sweet tooth. In his younger years, he was a collector of old-sports cars; Cadillac was his choice of car. Francis had a great sense of humor; he was private but witty. He enjoyed listening to classic rock music and had a collection of vinyls. He always wanted to help those in need. He was very easy-going, non[1]confrontational. He had a beautiful heart. Francis leaves to cherish his memory; his children, Kristie (Marcus Collins) Montano, Danny Montano; grandchildren, Kallie (Daniel) Matamoros, Alexis Coca; great[1]grandchildren, Matthew, Emma, Daniel Jr; baby girl Aspen Jean; mother of his children, Sandra Montano; siblings Cecilia Martinez, Gloria Velasquez, Elaine Madrid, Rose (Tino) Gutierrez, Lou Ann (Donald) Abeyta, Louise (Jose) Martinez, Steven (Diana) Montano, Anthony Montano, Bob (Pat) Montano, Ron (Janet) Montano, Dennis (Gerri) Montano, Ray (Zelda) Montano; 4 legged companion, Sadie Montano; numerous relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Funeral Service 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Angelus Chapel. Internment, Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
