John Albert McKnight, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at the New Horizon Church of Felt with Rev. Billy Rammage officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery in Clayton, New Mexico by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
John Albert McKnight Jr. was born on January 14, 1938, to John Albert McKnight and Ella Mae (Baldridge) McKnight in Clayton, New Mexico. He grew up on the family farm 10 miles West of Felt, Oklahoma. John attended school in Felt and then transferred to Clayton where he graduated in 1956. He ran service stations in his younger years and later worked for the county road department where he loved operating the road graders. John also worked the family farm as well as working his other jobs. He loved old cars and never stopped working on them. He enjoyed lawn care and kept his own lawn in great condition and along with his wife Helen took care of the Methodist Church lawn in Felt for years. John was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, Johnny McKnight III, a nephew; Jimmy Dean Smith, a sister, Carolyn McKnight, a sister-in-law; Lydia McKnight and a brother-in-law; Dick Withrow.

WIFE: Helen McKnight of Felt, Oklahoma.
1 DAUGHTER: Penny Ramos and her husband Uriel of Haslet, Texas.
3 GRANDCHILDREN: Brooke McKnight, Trevor McKnight, and Uriel Gavino Ramos.
2 SISTERS: Ruby Ethelene Smith and her husband Jim of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Billy Jean Withrow of Hugoton, Kansas.
1 BROTHER: Harvey Jefferson McKnight of Panhandle, Texas.
