Joyce Y. Garcia, born on June 6, 1962, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, February 5, 2023. Joyce was born and raised in California. Her family moved to NM in the early 1980s. Throughout the years, Joyce made numerous friends she called her family in the surrounding area of Springer where she resided for 25 years. Everyone knew Joyce(Yvette), knew she had a heart of gold. It didn’t matter who you were or what your background was, if you needed help she always welcomed you with open arms. The family was everything to Joyce, she enjoyed cooking, singing, dancing, and of course making you laugh, she was always happy with a smile on her face. Joyce spent the last year of her life in Cimarron, NM close to her family.
Preceded in death by her father Seferino E. Garcia, and brothers; Bruce and Christopher Garcia.
Survivors are her Mother Ignacita Garcia of California, Husband John Martinez, Daughter LeAndra Garcia and wife Monica Garcia, Sons; Paul Gurule and wife Haley Gonzales all of Cimarron, NM. Sons Brian Archuleta of Raton, and John C. and Augie of Raton, NM. Michael Martinez of Arizona and 7 grandchildren; Rayanna, Ezequiel, Carson, Wyatt, Allie, Aneesia, and AJ. Special friends Danita and Dany Cruz and Ruben and Valerie Maestas.
Services for Joyce Y. Garcia are pending and will be announced at a later date by the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
