In Loving Memory of Esther M. Espinoza

Esther M. Espinoza passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022, at MCMC in Raton, N.M.

She was born in Tinaja, N.M. on June 20, 1931 to Juan and Aurelia Cruz. Esther married Floyd L. Espinoza on July 26, 1947, and they began their life on a small farm west of Maxwell. Floyd and Esther began their construction of many homes in the Maxwell area. They have blessed with three children during their marriage: Charles, Patricia, and Daniel.

            Esther enjoyed cooking, fishing, and visiting with her children and grandchildren. Esther was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Maxwell, N.M. for many years. She also taught Catechism Religious Classes at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church K-12 and was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul alter society. After her husband’s passing, she was an active volunteer at the Springer Assisted Living home and at Sun Bridge Nursing home in Raton. Esther enjoyed attending her aerobic classes for many years where she made many lifelong friends.

            Esther is preceded in death by her parents Juan and Aurelia, her husband Floyd, her son Charles and daughter-in-law Gloria, her daughter Patricia and her son-in-law Richard. Her brother Chris, and sisters Lillian, Cora, and Beatrice. Esther is survived by her son Daniel and wife Barbara of Whitewater, CO. Granddaughters Lisa Lopez, Marcia Trujillo, and  Dana Espinoza. Grandsons Garrick and wife Valerie, Charlie and wife Maggie, Chris and wife Jennifer, and Brandon.  Great-Grandchildren: Moriah, Shaye, Alyssa, Alandra, Curt, Madison, Massey, Dillan, Cody, and Cade.

            Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Springer, N.M. beginning with the Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary at 10:00 AM, followed by The Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM with interment to follow in the  Maxwell Cemetery.
