Augustine “Gus” Macarenas Jr., born to Augustine Macarenas Sr. and Maria Isabell Lucero passed away on March 14, 2022, at the age of 88.
Augustine was a devoted husband and loving father. He was a retired Coal Miner, a member of the Knights of Columbus in Raton. He loved his Dallas Cowboys and was a great carpenter.
Augustine is preceded in death by his wife Clorinda Macarenas. Augustine is survived by his son Ray Macarenas, two grandchildren Michael Macarenas and Kyana Macarenas and 4 great grandchildren.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be on Friday March 25, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church recited by the Knights of Columbus, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Father Bill Woytavich as the Celebrant. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
