Everyone who took the time to know Rubin loved him. He enjoyed telling jokes, hunting, fishing, working out, making people laugh, and acting out stories of his life experiences. Rubin was a dedicated Catholic attending and participating in all daily masses and all Holy Days of Obligation. His favorite professional football team was the Buffalo Bills, his professional baseball teams were the New York Yankees and the Athletics, but he was a significant supporter of the Raton Tigers. Rubin enjoyed working out and he walked everywhere he desired to go. He participated in many short and long dash, course, and marathon running races where he received many medals and awards of achievement. Rubin participated in the Denver Colfax Marathon in Colorado in which he was given a certificate of completion. He was known to hang out with his parents and family. Rubin was an exceptional son who was dedicated and worked diligently around his parents’ home. He enjoyed spending time with his parents going to restaurants and riding around town. Rubin started his own business named Rubin’s Lawn Service where he would assist the elderly with their yard work and provide his services to the community. Many people loved and respected his generous heart and the assistance he offered them. His family remembers him for always taking his famous pudding dessert to all family gatherings and holidays. Rubin was a devoted supporter of his siblings, nieces/great-nieces, and nephews/great nephews always attending every extracurricular event of theirs and enjoying hanging out with them. Rubin enjoyed the traditional meal he would make at his home for his family. He loved attending all Tiger games, enjoyed writing poetry, and playing frisbee with his family. Rubin had a humble generous heart. He never missed a holiday, party, or family gathering. In his final moments of life and throughout his life, he desired to be more personal and closer to the Lord. His final wish was granted on Saturday, December 18, 2021, when the Lord delivered him from his recent illness. His soul is at peace, his loving heart will never be forgotten, he will be greatly missed and as he would say…. “ALL IS WELL.”
Rubin is preceded in death by his Grandparents: Levarato (Lee) and Isabel Sisneros & Samuel (Sam) and Beatrice (Betty) Tapia.
Rubin is survived by his Parents: Rubin Sr. and Susan Sisneros of Raton, NM.
Three Sisters: Betty Jo Montano (Dennis) of Trinidad, CO, Sue Holland (Jerry Sanchez) of Raton, NM, and Amanda Segura of Raton, NM.
Nine Nieces and Nephews: Noah Esquibel (Kim Lopez), Travis Esquibel, Shayleigh Esquibel, Megan Holland (Gabby), William Holland, Deacon Darrell Segura, Helen Segura (Jeremiah Trujillo), Heather Segura, and Dustin Segura (Mikayla Schutte).
Sixteen Great Nieces and Nephews: Phoebe Esquibel, Desja Ward, Nyia Esquibel, Nova Esquibel, Harlianna Esquibel, Jaelyn Bell, David Martinez, Cruz Martinez, Kenzie Esquibel, Ambrose Esquibel, Aleigha Trujillo, Azarias Trujillo, Oziah Trujillo, Kalani Segura, Adelyn Esquibel and Braelyn Esquibel. Rubin is also survived by his Blue Boii, special friends R.P. Romero and Shirley Macaron, numerous family members, and lifelong friends. His love and humor will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A viewing of Rubin Lee Sisneros Jr. will be on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home, 244 North 1st St., Raton, NM 87740.

Services for Rubin Lee Sisneros Jr: Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. @ St. Patrick-St. Joseph Catholic Church, 104 Buena Vista, Raton, NM 87740. Followed by the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Rite of Committal and Internment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
