Barbara Jean Solano, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to everyone who knew her, passed away in Las Cruces, NM on November 12, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. She passed away after a long and hard fight with breast cancer that she battled for over three years. She never complained and each day to her was “wonderful.” Her outlook on life was always positive, which became contagious to others around her.

She worked as a bookkeeper for Rubin’s clothing store for over 25 years. She was involved with St. Patrick’s-St Joseph’s Catholic Church. Barbara loved being actively involved with Raton’s baseball league and watching her son play throughout the years. Barbara was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1793 Auxiliary. She was instrumental with the long success of having BINGO at the VFW and she continued as an employee of the VFW until her passing.
