Jose D. Gonzales III (JD) passed away at home on the evening of Tuesday June 15, 2021 at the age of 48. JD was born in Trinidad, Colorado on August 30, 1972 to Rose and Joe Gonzales. He grew up in Trinidad and graduated from Trinidad High School in 1990. He worked a few different jobs, but was passionate about painting cars, which led JD to get certified in North Dakota and he painted cars in Trinidad, Denver, Nevada and Missouri. On of JD’s favorite pass times was fishing, he loved the outdoors also loved spending time with his family. He was also an amazing cook. In his younger years he loved playing sports. Football, Softball and Volleyball. He played in the VNEA 8 ball pool league here in Trinidad for many years.
JD is preceded in death by his Father Joe D. Gonzales, Grandparents JD & Mary Gonzales, John & Vera Lechuga, Brother in laws Robert J Mejia, Mark Visconti and Mick Trevino.
JD is lovingly remembered by his Momma Rose A. Gonzales, Sisters Jennifer Mejia, Vera Gonzales (Brother in law Anthony) and Monica Trevino (James), Godson Robert J. Mejia jr, Nieces Ashley Gonzales (Josh), Cheyenne Mejia (Rick), Arianna Visconti, Melodie Visconti, Joniyah Gallegos, and Enzilee Gallegos. Along with Great nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers are Woodrow Lopez, Filbert Garduno, Jim Clark, Anthony Gallegos and Rick Maldonado.
Celebration of JD’s life will be held at Comi Funeral Home, 1804 E Main St. on July 9, 2021 @ 1 pm with Brother Harry officiating, Followed by a reception at the Trails End Motel, 616 E. Main St. in Trinidad Colorado. Family may be contacted at 202 Dale St. Trinidad CO.
