Stetson Trujillo, has qualified for Nationals in Junior High/High School Rodeo events. In state competition, Stetson earned Reserve State Champion in chute dogging, Reserve State Champ in goat tying and 3rd in light rifle and will go to Nationals in all 3 events in Des Moines, Iowa from June 20 through June 26.
Stetson also finished 5th in team roping and 7th in boys breakaway. He is one of four Rio Arriba County Junior High contestants that will be a youth delegate for NM at the finals. He just finished his 7th grade year at Los Alamos Middle School. He will compete against contestants from 48 states, Canada, Mexico, and Australia for the title of National Champion.
Stetson is the son of Cody and Ronda Trujillo of Abiquiu NM, and the grandson of Mary Yaksich and the late Roddy Yaksich of Raton.
