In Loving Memory of Flavio Chavez

Flavio Chavez, 89, passed away peacefully at home on May 28th, 2021.
He was born in Stonewall, Colorado on August 18, 1931 to  Alcario and Antonio Chavez.
He attended Primero High School, graduating valedictorian of his class, where he then attended TSJC. He was in the National Guard for 10 years. He was employed at CF&I Allen Mine for 30 years where he was in management the last 13 years of his career.. He was an avid Bronco fan and loved going to Bronco games with his son. He also enjoyed watching the Rockies, going fishing, and attending all the many trips to Cripple Creek with his wife. Flavio was a lifelong hard-worker and enjoyed working in his yard and always kept himself busy. He always put his family first. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife and grandchildren.
Preceding him in death by his only son Floyd A. Chavez, his parents , Antonio and Alcaria Chavez, and his sisters Virginia and Frances.
Flavio is survived by his wife Jennie of 57 years, his grandchildren Kayla Vigil, Shannon (Damon) Vigil, Zak Chavez (MyRanda), great-grandchildren Domanic, Silvano, Graciella, and Hayden, Daughter-in-law Billie (Jim) Richardson, sister Lillian Aragon, sister-in-law Linda (Jim) Romero, and brother-in-law Lawrence (Yvonne) Pacheco. He also has numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will  be Monday, from 3pm-7pm at the Comi Chapel.
Rosary will be held Monday June 7th, 2021 at 7pm at Comi Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated  on Tuesday June 8th, 2021 at 10am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Trinidad, Colorado.
Military Honors will be conducted by Ft. Carson Honor Guard following the mass in front of Holy Trinity Church.
Interment will be held  on Wednesday June 9th, 2021 at 10am at Imperial Memorial Gardens in Pueblo, Colorado.
Pallbearers are as follows: Zak Chavez, Matthew Romero, Philip Romero, Jim Richardson, Cliff Wiening, Ted Moniot, Anthony Chavez ,  Damon Vigil, Domanic Mondragon and Jim Romero.
