Another afternoon in Tiger Gym this time the JV boys hosted the Des Moines Demons for a single game while the varsity take the afternoon off in this jam packed basketball season.
The second day of the 25 days of basketball saw the Demons take the early lead and start dropping the shots while their defense held Raton to only two points in the first quarter. the trend continued into the second quarter until late in the quarter Raton found the groove and took that big deficit and shrink it. The majority of Raton’s scoring started with under two minutes left in the half where they went from a 24-5 deficit to hit the locker room with a six point spread behind Des Moines.
Third quarter action however saw Des Moines slowly extend the point spread ending the third quarter with a 40 to 28 lead. Des Moines continued the streak into the fourth where they outscored Raton 14-8 for the win.
