In Loving Memory of Angelo L. Quartieri

Angelo Lawrence Quartieri was born on July 7, 1941 in Raton, New Mexico the son of Lawrence and Florence Quartieri. He attended Maxwell school, graduating from Maxwell High School in 1959. He was drafted into the US Army in 1963 where he became a Military Police Officer and was honorably discharged in 1965.

After serving in the Army , he moved back home to Maxwell and continued to help his parents on the farm. In 1970, Angelo went to work as a Rural Letter Carrier in the Springer, Maxwell, Cimarron and surrounding areas for the US Postal Service. He retired in 2009 after 39 years of service. He continued to farm after he retired with his son and grandsons by his side helping out from feeding the cattle to getting up at the crack of dawn to irrigate.

Angelo enjoyed watching his grandsons, Matthew and Dylan, play sports. He was their Biggest fan. If he could not attend their games, he made sure to tune into the radio to listen to their every play.

Angelo passed away peacefully November 13, 2020 with his son by his side after a short battle with Cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents and niece Lori Lynn Meyer. He is survived by one sister Lorna and husband Bob Meyer of Albuquerque, NM., one son Greg and wife Alycia Quartieri of Raton, NM., one granddaughter Brittnie and husband Angelo Encinias of Beeville, TX., twin grandsons Matthew Lawrence and Dylan Angelo Quartieri of Raton, NM. And six great grandchildren, Alycia, Angelo Jr., twins Isaac and Jayden, Gabriel. And Isaiah Encinias of Beeville, TX. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services will be Saturday November 21, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Maxwell City Cemetery with Pastor Monty McGowen officiating.

Due to Covid 19 masks an social distancing will be required.

Arrangements and celebration of love for Angelo Lawrence Quartieri are under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.

    We are sad to hear of Angelo Quartieri’s passing. He was a nice man and very good to us when we lived in Maxwell.
