Pray for Peace Journey

By Matthew R. Mayfield

The Pray for Peace committee has made its last overnight stop on Tuesday at the St. James Hotel in Cimarron. This caravan of veterans and their families are on their way to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Angel Fire from Wichita Falls, TX.

The Committee is headed by Patterson Auto Group Founder Harry Patterson, a Vietnam Veteran, of Wichita Falls TX. Mr.  Patterson also owns land near the memorial in Angel Fire. He, along with other landowners graciously donated parcels of their properties for the cemetery and Wellness Center to be located adjacent to the Memorial. Mr. Patterson brings along a procession that includes the Pray for Peace Army Truck with a 1941 John Deere Model A Tractor, two large RV’s and a 35 foot cross.

The center piece of their journey is the 35 foot handmade white cross that will be erected Wednesday morning just west of the Veterans Cemetery in Angel Fire.

You can find more about Pray for Peace and their journey on Facebook at Pray for Peace Journey.
