Joe is the 6th eldest child, he went to Raton High School and joined the National Guard. He made his career as a Culinary Chef; where he catered for some famous people while living in California & Colorado.
He also had worked for the New Mexico Boy’s School and retired while living in Maxwell, New Mexico. He then moved to Clayton, NM ..where he resided and opened a restaurant.
When Joe officially retired from cooking he moved to Guymon, Oklahoma….than later moved to Hart Texas,.Where he wanted peace and felt he was destined to make peace with his children and great-grandchildren.
Joe enjoyed singing, and entertaining family and friends and those who listened! As a child he often spoke of his grandfather Duclieno that he was close too …and often spoke of how he enjoyed the time’s he would spend fishing with his grandchildren . Especially after retiring from the New Mexico Boy’s School: he’d talk about the ranch he had, and how his grandchildren would help with the livestock he had; he often mentioned that he’d have a farm to raise animals. There would be times when it would be quiet @ night he would spend hours outside talking about pastimes when he was growing up. Other times he’d tell jokes, watch football, boxing, and the news. He enjoyed traveling when he could: he would enjoy the views when he was able too. But when the COVID-19 took his life he became a Wings of a Dove.
There was hardly anything he would complain about. He was a wonderful mindful person, a loving father, grandfather, a brother & a friend.
Joe wanted to be remembered of who he was not of fighting or who was being favored he wanted to love and peace among the family!
Remember as uncle Lolo, a father, a grandfather, a brother, and a friend. He loved God and was spiritual to his faith and life is short to be bitter. Remember Joe, of who he was not of death but someone that has hope and knows that death is only the beginning to something better.
Due to the COVID-19: and those who were not mentioned I apologize for what this may have caused!
Until Further Notice: Family and Friends are welcome to pay their respects in remembrance of Joe I. Lopez…a Mass & Memorial will be held at the Alderette Funeral Home.
