Amended and Restated Standing Public Health Order 20-03COVID-19 Safer-At-Home and Stay at Home for Vulnerable Individuals

April 30, 2020: Las Animas Huerfano Counties District Health Department has issued Public Health Order 20-03 that will take effect on May 1, 2020. The previous Public Health Order will expire on April 30th at midnight.

Per the order, some businesses can open with abundant precautions. The health department has developed a Business Checklist that is required for all businesses to fill out and send back for approval upon opening in phase 1 of the Safer at Home Order. People 65 and older and those at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19 must continue to stay home, and the general public is strongly advised to stay at home and only leave for specific tasks. The order is intended to better support the Las Animas and Huerfano Counties’ social, mental, and economic health while responding to this pandemic.

All services included in the public health order are subject to physical distancing requirements and are still encouraged to implement telework options and staggered schedules when possible. They are also encouraged to implement symptom monitoring protocols, including workplace temperature monitoring and symptom screening questions, where possible.

Any questions regarding this order or how it relates to the Governors’ Order D20-044 can be directed to the health department at 719-846-2213.
