The Las Animas Huerfano Counties District Health Department (LAHCDHD) has been in contact with
a physician that comes to Huerfano County to see patients.
The health department was notified that the physician has recently tested positive for COVID 19. The health department has investigated the situation and contacted all patients that have been in contact with this physician. At this time and with guidance from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the patients are the only people along with physician staff that has been told to self-quarantine for 14 days. All patients and staff have been notified that they are affected by this confirmed case.

LAHCDHD has vigorously encouraged all Las Animas and Huerfano County residents to practice
social distancing procedures: stay home, particularly if you are sick.

Every Coloradoan must work together to stem the spread of COVID-19.

Anyone who reports symptoms of COVID-19 infection, such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath, should call their health care provider first.

People without those symptoms do not need to be tested for COVID-19. This is allergy season, and allergy symptoms such as sneezing or itchy eyes, nose or throat do not indicate a need for testing.
People who have non-health-related questions or concerns can also call 1-877-462-2911 or visit
https://covid19.colorado.gov/, which is being updated daily.
