Alex P. Aguilar, age 72, was called to Heaven to be with Our Lord Heavenly Father on August 17, 2019 in Amarillo, Texas.

Alex P. Aguilar was born on February 1, 1947 in Kennedy, Texas to Manuel and Felipa (Perez) Aguilar. At the age of 18 he joined the Marine Corps and served his tour of duty. During the Vietnam War, he was wounded three times and was awarded three purple hearts, his rank was Corporal. On February 2, 1979 he married Loretta (Rodriguez) Aguilar in Clayton, New Mexico. He decided to join the New Mexico National Guard and later became active duty Army where he retired as an E-7. Alex was a lifetime member of the Military Order Of The Purple Heart, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and also a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3271 in Clayton where he was commander for several years. He also served as distract commander. Alex loved working with wood and building multiple styles of cabinets. He also enjoyed mechanic and body work and he was employed at Gordon’s Body Shop for several years. He enjoyed going fishing with his brother-in-law Selmo and hanging out cruising with his best friend Eloy Blan. Alex also loved being around his family and friends especially his grandkids. Alex was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Luanna Hardesty, 7 brothers, Rey, Manuel, Thomas, Santos, Ross, Roy and Johnny Aguilar, 2 sisters, Norma and Audelia, 3 grandchildren, Roxanna Aguilar, Chelsea Griego and Marc Anthony Trujillo, his father-in-law, Andy Rodriguez and mother-in-law, Rose Rodriguez and 3 brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law.

SURVIVORS:

WIFE: Loretta Aguilar of Clayton, New Mexico.

4 DAUGHTERS: Joyce Fenton, Matilda Aguilar and Angelica Contreras and her husband Ronnie all of Guymon, Oklahoma and Sheila Griffin and her husband Frank of Hampton, Georgia.

2 SONS: Anthony Aguilar of Pasco, Washington and Lawrence William Trujillo and his wife Manuelita of Clayton, New Mexico.

3 SISTERS: Dora Cardona of Amarillo, Texas and Minga Gonzalez and her husband Guadalupe and Mary Martinez and her husband Charles all of Guymon, Oklahoma.

19 Grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, He also had a special niece he called a granddaughter, Mireya Gonzales. He was greatly loved by all and will be greatly missed.
