Susie Funk, age 75, died Friday, June 21, 2019 in Clayton, New Mexico.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 AM Central Time on Wednesday, June 26th at the Felt Baptist Church in Felt, Oklahoma with Rev. Orden Hartley and Rev. Billy Rammage officiating.
Susie Funk was born on March 19, 1944 in Amarillo, Texas to Max Duncan and Ima Jewel (Osborn) Duncan. She attended grade school in Grenville and high school in Clayton where she graduated from Clayton High School. Susie married Lawrence Richard Funk on June 18, 1960 in Clayton, New Mexico and to this union was born three children; Mark, Jeff and Jana. Susie was a homemaker and a farmers wife, and she also worked for the US Coast Guard and as the head cook for Felt Public Schools for many years as well as serving as the Assistant Post Master. Susie was a very strong Christian woman and was very active in the Felt Baptist Church, she led the singing for many years and was an active member of Gideons International. Susie loved windmills and collected many of them and she also loved her Dallas Cowboys and her Oklahoma Sooners. Susie was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Lawrence R. Funk on February 10, 2002, by 2 brothers; Jim Duncan and Jack Duncan and by a sister Joellen Duncan Johnson.
SURVIVORS:
1 DAUGHTER: Jana Fowler and her husband Lance of Boise City, Oklahoma.
2 SONS: Mark Funk and his wife Loretta of Clayton, New Mexico and Jeff Funk and his wife Amy of Enid, Oklahoma.
7 GRANDCHILDREN: Matthew Funk, Brandon Funk, Ashli Funk, Kris Funk, Calli McVay, Ashlee McVay and Jace Fowler.
MEMORIALS: The family asks that memorials be made in Susie’s memory to the Gideons International.
