Angelina (Angie) Sciacca, age 99, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2019, in Trinidad, Colorado. She was the last member of the original Febbraro family who settled in the Trinidad area in the early 1900’s.
Angie was born July 23, 1919, in Black Hills, CO to Ignacio and Domenica Febbraro. Angie attended the Barnes Valley School in Ludlow, CO. She married Jack Sciacca October 11, 1936 and were married for 57 years until he passed away in 1994.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Sciacca, daughter, Joanne Kruitz, parents, Ignacio and Domenica Febbraro, brothers and sisters, Joseph (Roma) Febbraro, Charlie (Elsie) Febbraro, Nick (Catherine) Febbraro, Lilly (Tony) Frenchmore, Lena (Pete) Sciacca, Ann (Albert-Will) Salbato, Patty (Phillip-Vince) Sciacca-Novara, little sister Mary Febbraro, and little brother Joe Febbraro.
Angie is survived by her two sons, Jim (Joan) Sciacca of Denver, Frank (Gloria) Sciacca of Ludlow, Son in-law Fred Kruitz of Walsenburg, grandchildren, Jack (Jillian) Sciacca, Cindy (Keith) Busch, Nick (Denise) Sciacca, Pam (George) Morrison, Angela (Glenn) Gomez, Karen (Ron) Eccher, Rick (Rindy)Sciacca, Ken (Gena) Sciacca, Chad (Brandie) Sciacca and Deborah (Mike) Snell, 18 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Angie helped her husband Jack with the Sciacca Goat Dairy business. She worked as a teacher’s aid, the CSU Extension office as a secretary, and taught crafts at the Trinidad State Junior College and various schools. Angie lived within a 10 mile radius of her birthplace until moving to the Trinidad Nursing Home in January of 2018. She loved her home in Ludlow and missed it very much so her son arranged for her to go home on a weekly basis.
Rosary will be at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Aguilar, Wednesday, April 10, 9:30 A.M., followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. with interment at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
