You’re Invitation to Celebrate Trinidad and Help Plan the Future of “Crazy French Ranch”

You’re invited to a community celebration at the A. R. Mitchell Museum of Western Arts on Wednesday, March 6th at 6:00 p.m. This free event is co-hosted by Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO), The Trust for Public Land (TPL), and The Nature Conservancy (TNC). We’ll highlight the amazing opportunity for partnering entities to conserve Crazy French Ranch, home of Fisher’s Peak – the stunning backdrop of Trinidad and the highest point in the United States east of I-25.

Collaborating with the City of Trinidad, TPL and TNC have reached an agreement to acquire the special, 30-square-mile property, aiming to safeguard the region’s outstanding wildlife habitat, while providing public access, supporting the local recreation economy, and protecting local identity. GOCO has awarded a $7.5 million grant for the project, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife has pledged an additional $7 million.

RSVP by Friday, March 1st.

This is an indoor event, and we encourage casual attire. We’ll have a cash bar, and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

GOCO’s spring board meeting will follow on Thursday, March 7th at the Holiday Inn, Trinidad. For those interested in attending, a full schedule will be available for download on the GOCO calendar soon.
