In Loving Memory of Daniel “Danny” Joseph Padilla

Daniel “Danny” Joseph Padilla was born on September 18, 1950 in Raton, New Mexico to the late John “Juanito Perfecto” Padilla and Mary Ann “Martinez” Vigil.

Danny spent much of his life in Albuquerque and Raton, New Mexico attending Ernie Pyle Middle School, Albuquerque High School, and graduating from Raton High School in 1968.  Danny excelled in many sports throughout his life including football, basketball, baseball, track, softball, and golf.  He loved being involved with sports, also coaching many little league teams for Eastdale Little League, and other Albuquerque sports programs.  Danny was also a veteran with the Air National Guard and received his Associates degree from the University of New Mexico as an Occupational Therapist.  Much of his career in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Los Angeles, California was spent in the automobile industry in sales and as a finance manager for a variety of car dealerships in and around Albuquerque, New Mexico where he saw much success.

Danny’s greatest love was his children and family, and he enjoyed spending time with them every chance that he had.  Danny was fortunate to have a large family that currently live in the states of New Mexico, Colorado, and California.  After a long battle with cancer, Danny was taken back home to be with our Heavenly Father, our lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  Danny is proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Walter and Bobby, and partner Laura Johnson.  Danny is survived by his son Erik and wife Tara, grandchildren Jackson and Sydney, daughter Eren and husband Robert, daughter Marianna, step-son Efren Ortega, step-father Pete Vigil, brother John Wayne and wife Louise, sister Betty and husband Tym, brother Jimmy and wife Lupe and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  His family thanks him for all the love, memories and consideration that he provided to us and know that someday we will be reunited in Heaven.

Rosary will be Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 10:00 AM.  Mass of the Resurrection will be Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick- St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Raton, New Mexico. Rite of committal will be in Mt Calvary Cemetery.

    Had a lot of good times with Danny. He was a lot of fun & a great guy & friend.
