Lynda Smith joined her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 10, 2019. Lynda was born on February 5, 1953 in Raton, NM to her parents Higineo Tovar and Manuela Pacheco.
Lynda was a loving companion, mother, sister, and auntie. She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her. She graduated from Raton High School in 1971. She attended Trinidad State Jr. College for criminal justice. She received her master’s degree in sociology from New Mexico Highlands University. Lynda worked at Pizza hut in Raton, Miners Colfax Medical Center in Raton, NM. She also worked for Children Youth and Family Department in Santa Fe and Las Vegas for 15 years. She was president for A.F.S.C.B.E. Union and attended the First Presbyterian Church in Las Vegas, NM.
She is preceded in death by daughter: Kathy Moore; mother: Manuela Pacheco; brother: Juan Pacheco.
She is survived by her lifelong Companion: Dr. Gabino Rendón; son: Ronald Smith of the family home in Las Vegas, NM; brothers: Estevan Pacheco (Gloria Neurauter) of Raton, NM, David Pacheco (Kris Graham) of Raton, NM; sisters: Ludi Pacheco of Raton, NM, Angela Pacheco of Raton, NM, Carmela Sanchez (Clarence) of Belen, NM, Regina Huffman (Rod) of Gallup, NM; uncle: Perfecto Pacheco (Lupe) of Los Angeles California; numerous: nieces and nephews; special Companion: Xena.
Family requests that you may wear black and purple for the Memorial Services if you wish.
Celebration of Lynda Smiths Life will take place on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 1:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church 1000 Douglas Ave Las Vegas, NM with Pastor Katie Palmer as officiant.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Pacheco, David J. Pacheco, Joe Pacheco, Ben Segotta, Ryland Huffman, Andy Pacheco, Chris Pacheco and Gene Pacheco.
