Raton hosted Robertson Wednesday evening for another district matchup on the court with Robertson traveling back down I-25 with three more marks in the win column.
The C-team game was a close one with Raton actually taking the early lead and went into half time with a tie ballgame. Second half action saw Robertson outscore Raton 18-5 in the third period but Raton battled back and outscored Robertson 16-11 to close the gap but it was too little to overcome the third quarter deficit which left Robertson with the win.
JV Action saw Raton once again take the early lead but the second quarter was the downfall for Raton as Robertson outscored Raton 21-7. Raton managed to keep it close otherwise but when the buzzer sounded for the final time it was Robertson 73 Raton 56.
The varsity game was another one of those that stayed close for the first half of the game with both teams trading points yet leaving Robertson with a five point lead at half time. Raton and Robertson kept it even in the third quarter both scoring 13 points. The fourth quarter however was where Robertson made the difference with steals on passes and converted those to points. Raton kept struggling and when the final buzzer sounded it was a 72-58 game with Robertson marking the win column.
