Lynette Reyes, 52, of Trinidad, Colorado passed away December 25, 2018. The eldest daughter of Charlene Villani and Joseph Reyes, Lynette spent her younger years in many states including Colorado, New Mexico, California, and Oregon before settling in her parents’ hometown of Trinidad, Colorado for the last 26 years. When Lynette moved to town she spent much of her time at her family’s business the Northside Tavern, where she would frequently bartend. She later went on to be a drug and alcohol counselor for Crossroad Turning Points and spent her last years as a home care provider.
Lynette was a devoted mother and grandmother. She spent much of her time with her five grandchildren who shared countless memories with her. She shared with them her love of roller blading, swimming, books, science, and more. She was an irreplaceable presence in all of their lives.
Lynette was preceeded in death by her father, Joseph Reyes. She is survived by her mother Charlene Villani; daughters Caitlyn (Alec) Howard and Desiree (John) Davidson; grandchildren Kylee, Daron, Johnny, Bennett, and Collin; sister Melanie Reyes; aunts Ginny Villani, Margie Villani (Hector Carrasco), and Jo Anne Villani, partner Raymond Burley; and many other loved ones who will cherish her memory.
Lynette passed away unexpectedly in a fatal accident on Interstate 25 driving home on Christmas day from her daughter’s home in Pueblo. The rosary and service will be held together at Comi Funeral home on Monday, January 7 at 10 a.m. followed by internment at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend and honor her memory.
