Sammy Steve Medina, 66, formerly of Raton, NM passed away on December 25, 2018.
He was born to parents Jose and Martha Medina, on April, 18, 1952 in Springer , NM.
He enjoyed fishing, traveling, meeting new people, telling stories and spending time with his family. In 1971, Sammy was honored with a National Defense Service Medal for Naval Services and Honorably discharged in 1974.
Sammy is proceeded in death by his Father Jose Napoleon Medina, Mother Martha Martinez- Medina, Sister Anna Marie Bisconti. He is survived by Daughters Rosemarie Martinez, (Richard Martinez son-in-law), Rachel Medina (Joseph Avila son-in-law), Sisters Cecelia Medina, Dorothy Salazar, and Ernestine Montoya. Grand Daughters: Xandra Martinez, and Hope Avila. Also, two nephews, four nieces, and many cousins.
The family has entrusted Affordable Cremation And Burial with the arrangements to be at Santa Fe National Cemetery January 4, 2019 at 3:00 PM, 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM 87501.
A reception will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 1301 Osage Ave, Santa Fe, NM 87505. Deacon will officiate the ceremony.
