In Loving Memory of Fidelia Taylor

Fidelia Taylor, 79, of Clayton, New Mexico passed away suddenly on December 20, 2018 in Albuquerque, NM. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many.

The family will honor Fidelia with a Memorial Mass on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 114 North 1st Street, Clayton, NM 88415. Fidelia will be laid to rest at her beloved Taylor Ranch Cemetery. Following the communion service, the family will have lunch served at the Parish Hall.

Fidelia was born May 18, 1939, the daughter of Macario and Maria Inez Sanchez, in Barney, New Mexico. She graduated from Clayton High School in 1959. She was married to the love of her life, Jimmie Taylor for 59 years. The couple was blessed with two sons and two daughters who gave them many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Fidelia loved her family unconditionally and enjoyed having everyone together for meals, birthdays and holidays. She was one of the best cooks and had the ability to prepare an amazing meal in minutes. She was had exceptional crafting skills that she shared. Being a life long resident of Clayton, NM, Fidelia was also a valued servant to her community. She had very few jobs in her lifetime and served as Deputy Assessor for 4 years and was elected County Assessor for Union County for 4 year. She also worked for the State of New Mexico’s Motor Vehicle Department for 27 years. Fidelia served on numerous boards and committees for the State of New Mexico and within her local community and church. Fidelia retired 20 years ago and she and Jimmie have been able to enjoy their cattle ranch and trips with their friends and especially time with their children. Fidelia was preceded in death by her father, Macario Sanchez, her mother, Maria Inez Sanchez, her brothers, Damian Sanchez, and Max Sanchez.

HUSBAND: Jimmie Taylor of Clayton, New Mexico.

2 SONS: Jimmie L. Taylor Jr. and Karen Vieites and Kenneth J. Taylor and Carla Jo all of Clayton, New Mexico.

2 DAUGHTERS: Karla Hubbell and Brian of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Pam Tivis and Nick Cardenas of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

10 GRANDCHILDREN: Tasha Anderson (Chris) of Amarillo, TX, Tiffani Tivis (Justin Martin) of Roswell, NM, Taylor Tivis of Forth Worth, TX, Brian Hubbell (Megan) of Albuquerque, NM, Devian Fields (David) of Clayton, NM, Cristen Ransom (C.J.) of San Diego, CA, Jimmie Wayne Taylor (Julie) of Clayton, NM, Jessica Taylor (Josh Casillas) of Albuquerque, NM, Ashley Hubbell (Matt Corrales) of Albuquerque, NM, Dolan Taylor of Clayton, NM.

8 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Jaden and Brandon Anderson, Maria Arellano and Rocco Ransom, Myer Martin, Hannah and Mason Hubbell and Rigsby Fields.

1 BROTHER: Silviano Sanchez of Aztec, New Mexico.

2 SISTERS: Irene Miera of Clapham, New Mexico and Frances Sanchez of Denver, Colorado.

And many nieces and nephews.

The Taylor family is thankful to the numerous medical personnel at Presbyterian Hospital and numerous Presbyterian Medical Centers, especially the Northside Medical Center who provided Fidelia with loving care and professional treatment during her illnesses.
