New Mexico 2018 Wendy’s High School Heisman Award State Finalist

Mr. Jose Archuleta of Raton High School was recently selected as one of the top ten male student athletes of New Mexico by the prestigious Wendy’s High School Heisman Award Committee, which highlights exceptional high school seniors and their achievements in the classroom, on the field and in the community.

Jose Archuleta is the son of Jose and Raquel Archuleta. He participates in basketball, tennis, golf and track. He is also a member of FCCLA and serves as Chapter President, RHS Student Senate and serves as Student Body President, National Honor Society, Youth Alive, and FCA. Jose gives back to his community by volunteering at Raton Visitor’s Center, Raton High School Blood Drives, the Gateway Music Festival, and Hope’s Senior Center to name a few.

“It is quite an honor to have one of our students chosen as one of the top student-athletes in the state. We are very proud of Jose.” said Lynette Simpson, Counselor at Raton High School.
