Bernetta “Bunny” Bailey was born in River Falls Wisconsin, August 31, 1956. She came into God’s presence unexpectedly Saturday, October 28, 2018.
An outspoken and hardworking mother, Bernetta moved to Colorado in 1992, where she continued working and raising her only son, “the love of her life,” Jason “Jake,” Myhre. She taught Jake to be a hardworking, respectful, generous, wonderful man of integrity.
Bernetta “Bunny,” was known for her beautiful smile, her contagious laugh and her kind heart. She would “take the shirt off of her back,” for anyone in need. She enjoyed attending family gatherings, loved being with her new family members. The whole family loved her dearly. “Bunny” was well known, for her famous “Dirt Cake,” that was enjoyed by everyone at every gathering that she attended! She shared a deep love, with her only granddaughter, Kelli Myrhe, whom she adored and cherished.
Jill Harrison and her daughter Jasmine Harrison were very close friends, more like family members in Bunny’s life and they were deeply loved and appreciated. “Bunny” and Jill would go on trips together, and had made a promise to travel to places unknown. “Bunny’s” family is very grateful and thankful to Jill, for being with “Bunny” in times of need, when they could not be with her.
Bernetta “Bunny” is survived by her only son, Jason “Jake” Myhre and his fiancé, Audrey Baca, of Trinidad. “Bunny” is also survived by her three grandchildren: Kelli Myhre, Robert Hernandez, and Jared Hernandez. She is also survived by her mother, Betty (Paul) McGillivray, Coco Beach, Florida, her brother, Ray (Marlene) Nystul of Raton New Mexico, her sister Diane from Coco Beach, Florida, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The special people in “Bunny’s” life are: Joe (Myra) Encinias, Destiny Baca, Justis Dionisio, Maniya Dionisio of Trinidad, Sephra Baca (Andrew Tapia), Brayden Tapia, Aledo Texas. “Bunny” will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Her death leaves a hole in the lives of those she has left.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 12, 2018 at 10:00 am at Most Holy Trinity Church, Trinidad, CO.
Internment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
