Dolores (Lola) E. Trujillo, 98, of Maxwell, NM passed away September 18, 2018 at her home in Maxwell, NM. Dolores was born in Chico, NM to Daniel and Lucia Sandoval, on June 2th 1920. Dolores married Ernest Trujillo, of Maxwell, and were married for 64 years. Dolores had four children, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.
Dolores is preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Lucia Sandoval, her husband Ernest, her two children, Larry and Iris Marie Trujillo; and her eight sisters Gertrude, Marie, Esther, Nynpha, Mildred, Vera, Lucinda and brother Daniel. She is survived by her daughters Sister Ernestine Trujillo, SSCJ of San Antonio, TX, and Lindie Cruz of Pahrump, NV.; her grandchildren Cindy Trujillo, Yancy Trujillo of Colorado Springs, CO., and Naomi Cruz Moreno of Las Vegas, NV. Her great-grandchildren Paul Trujillo of Trinidad, Co., Danika Crabb of Colorado Springs, CO; Brent Trujillo of Portales, NM and Tarryn Trujillo of Albuquerque, NM, and her great, great-grandchildren, Kaisley Renee and Jaxon Crabb of Colorado, Springs CO, and Orion Trujillo of Trinidad, Co. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Dolores was very active in her church and community throughout her adult life. She was a lifelong member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. For many years she was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Altar Society, the Home Extension Women’s Club, Colfax County Senior Citizens Advisory Board, Senior Companion for 24 years and a volunteer with the Maxwell Senior Center. She was an avid quilter, enjoyed dancing, arts and crafts, travel and being with friends and family.
Pallbearers will be Yancy and Paul Trujillo, Charlie and Brandon Lucksich, Michael Martinez, Jesse Cruz and Jesus Moreno.
The Rosary will be recited by the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at St. Vincent De Paul Church in Maxwell on Friday September 21st at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will be held at the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Maxwell at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 22, 2018. Mass celebrant will be Fr. Bill Woytavich. Internment will be at the Maxwell Cemetery. Following the Mass, there will be a celebration of life at the Maxwell School cafeteria, everyone is invited to join the family in the celebration!!
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Altar Society in Maxwell, NM.
Services and celebration of love for Dolores Trujillo are under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
