Alberta C. Mondragon, 84, of Raton, N.M. passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018.
She was born in Des Moines, NM. on January 19, 1934 to Emilio and Josephine Cruz. She enjoyed living life to the fullest with her husband, Bill. She had a lengthy career in banking and enjoyed greeting her customers with a friendly smile. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved watching them play and coach sports and could always be heard cheering them on in the stands.
Her fondest memories were raising her children on the ranch in Des Moines and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of St. Patrick-St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bill Mondragon, Sr.; daughters Linda Ortiz and husband, Anthony of Raton, NM., and Janet Mondragon and partner Leanne Garcia of Durango, CO.; sons Billy Mondragon Jr. and wife Joan of Artesia, NM. and Greg Mondragon and wife Roberta of Raton, NM.; grandchildren Andrea Aragon and husband Paul Reyes, Aaron Ortiz and wife Christy, Patrick Mondragon and wife Trisha, Michael Mondragon and wife Desiree, Bryan Mondragon, Samuel Mondragon, Emilio Mondragon, Makayla Mondragon, Jonathan Valdez and Nicole Rodriguez; great-grandchildren Analisa Aragon, Alexa Ortiz, Gabriel Ortiz, Ellie Ortiz, William Mondragon, Amaya Mondragon, Zaedyn Mondragon, Krislynn Mondragon, and Abigail Valdez; step-great-grandchildren Reyes Aragon, Taylor Aragon, Denise Mondragon, Monica Mondragon, and Aubrey Valdez.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 17th from 5 – 6 p.m. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home chapel, followed by the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at St. Patrick/St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be on Monday, June 18th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick-St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father John Brasher as the celebrant. Cremation and burial will take place at a later date.
