Gloria Sally Torres, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2018.
She was born in La Junta, CO, on May 10, 1949 to Dorothy and Manuel Garcia.
She worked at Walmart for 30 years before her retirement in 2016. She was a loving and caring person to everyone she knew in her life. Spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as all her family and friends was what made her the happiest in life. She loved butterflies, hummingbirds and angels.
She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene E. Torres, mother Dorothy Cordova, father Manuel Garcia, uncle John Gallegos, brothers Larry Garcia, Fermin Cordova and Richard Garcia, sisters Georgia Gurule and Ruth White.
She is survived by son Gene (Lisa) Torres of Trinidad, daughters, Jeanette (Bryan) Atkins of Pueblo West, and Cheryl(Dez) Torres of Trinidad, Grandchildren, Courtney, Shanya, Seth, Brendan, Jessica and Garrett. Brothers, Eddie Garcia, Tom (Louise) Garcia, and Phil(Adeline) Garcia all of Trinidad, Sisters , Louise (Gene) Velasquez of Pueblo West, Martha Griego of Fountain, and Freida (Tom) Rios of Trinidad, Brothers and in law, Garfield (Florence) Torres, Joseph (Rosella) Torres, Robert (Claudette) Torres, and Glen (Sara) Torres all of Trinidad, Kelly (Lucille)Torres and Virgil Torres both of Pueblo, Sisters in law, Sara (Don) Ward of Mesa, AZ, Andrea (John) Belinski, Esther (Bebe) Gutierrez, Carol Olmstead all of Denver, and Larraine Lovato of Amarillo, TX, Godchildren, Phil Garcia Jr., Aleigha Garcia and Nevaeh Trujillo, numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2PM-6PM at the Comi Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 10AM at Holy Trinity Church.
Interment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Bryan Atkins, Seth Herndon, Phil Garcia Jr., Adam Garcia, Gene Velasquez and Ray Velasquez.
