In Loving Memory of Charles Lloyd Sedillo

Charles Lloyd Sedillo age 78, of Raton passed away May 4, 2018. Charlie, as he was known to his family and friends was born in Raton, New Mexico on February 19, 1940 to Dan and Mary Sedillo. He attended Raton Public Schools and in 1959 married the love of his life, Mary Lou Mares. They were married 58 years.

Charlie and Mary Lou spent 17 years in San Diego, CA before moving back to Raton in 1973. Upon returning to Raton, Charlie worked for the Raton Natural Gas Company for several years before coming to work for the City of Raton where he worked in various positions before retiring as the Park and Recreation Manager. Charlie was also a partner in CDE Mechanical before starting his own plumbing business which he continued to run for many years.

Charlie was a loving husband and a great Dad and Grand Dad. He was a good friend and always willing to help. He is fondly remembered for his good sense of humor and his laughter.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents Dan and Mary Sedillo; a daughter, Barbara and one brother, Joseph.

Charlie is survived by his wife Mary Lou; his children Marie Wilkerson, Charles Sedillo Jr., Kenny Sedillo and Paul Sedillo as well as his brother and sisters: Dan Sedillo (Mary Lou), Martha Mora, Elvira Horne, Mary Cleo Montoya (Louis), Virginia Ruth Duran, Aaron Sedillo (Joyce), Rebecca Sedillo, Solomon Sedillo (Kathy), and Raymond Sedillo (Elizabeth). Charlie is also survived by several grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Charles Sedillo will be Monday May 7, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. to 4 P.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home Chapel in Raton.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 8, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joyce Sedillo of the Church of God Prophecy officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Arrangements and celebration of love for Charles Lloyd Sedillo are under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
