She was beyond beyond…beyond beautiful, talented, creative, artistic; beyond generous, giving, kind, compassionate; beyond faithful, loyal, loving, inclusive…she was beyond beyond. She was imagination. She saw the world through eyes of magic, and like a child of innocence was captivated with glitter, sparkle, twinkling lights, and polka dots. She surrounded herself, created for herself, a world of whimsy, enchantment and fancy-schmancy embellishment. She fashioned brilliant art out of scraps of fabric, broken crayons, and elementary school watercolor sets. Her mind refused to conform to the confines of a preconceived pattern and each quilt, doodle, drawing, was distinct, individual, unexpected, and singular. There was no one quite like her. She was our one-of-a-kind Linna.
Linna Sue Fleming Atmore was born in Greensburg, Indiana, March 17, 1939, first child of James Taylor and Ruth Carney Fleming. She moved with her family to Hollywood, California, where she quickly became a devotee of the west coast sun. Her senior year of high school the Flemings transferred to Ogden, Utah. She married, had three strong, independent children, and she embraced their friends and made them family. She fostered countless babies as they prepared for permanent home placement.
After completing her education, she worked for the Marquardt Corporation and Thiokol.

She was also beyond tough and tenacious and with determination and discipline she adhered to a 12 step program that earned her 41 years of sobriety. She was a well loved and respected substance abuse counselor working many years with St. Benedict Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center and Davis County Treatment Center where she guided many into the freedom of sobriety. She was named Davis County’s Counselor of the Year. She was a founding partner and manager of Rocky Mountain Consultants, an agency offering substance abuse counseling to those who could not afford inpatient treatment.
She was a First Responder with the American Red Cross and served at Ground Zero in New York City, and as responder in both Missouri and Florida following their tornadoes. She also served as supervising agent in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for evacuees from Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina.
Love came strong and steadfast, sure and deep and in 1979 she married Frank Atmore, the tall gentle man who understood, appreciated and adored her most unique spirit. Together, they moved to his family’s mountain ranch in northern New Mexico where she began life anew, basking in the solitude and splendor of nature’s wildlife and primal beauty. While in New Mexico she loved and was loved by a treasured group of new friends.
She was a lifelong member of the Disciples of Christ Church. Her motto was: “Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.” Now she knows perfect peace in the Great Beyond Beyond.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepson, John Atmore. She is survived by her husband, R. Frank Atmore; children, Taylor (Chris) Finder, Robin (Alan) Woodall, Jason (Hillary) Finder; and stepson, Robert (Kera) Atmore; 15 grandchildren; and siblings, Nancy Carter Apolonio, Reb Fleming, and Jeff Fleming.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Pastor Jeff Fleming officiating. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the American Red Cross.
