Isabel Medina, age 85, went home to be with our Lord, on March 7, 2018. She was born in Brilliant, New Mexico, on February 26, 1933, to Nasario and Anna Trujillo. She married Levi Medina on February 27, 1949, in Raton, New Mexico. Born of the marriage were eight children. Isabel was a member of Saint Patrick’s Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, a devoted wife, mother, and grand-mother, and cherished by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nasario and Anna Trujillo; husband, Levi Medina, Sr.; sons, Levi Medina, Jr., and Larry Medina; son-in-law, Dan Ortega; sisters, Rosie Valdez, Lucy Trujillo, and Theresa Kummer; and brother-in-law’s, Joe Sylvester, Nick Granado, and Gary Bruns. Isabel is survived by her children, Clara Ortega, Carol Salazar and husband Ernest, daughter-in-law, Jane Medina, Cathy Chiaramonte and husband Vincent, Carmen Ortiz and husband David, and Johnny N. Medina, Sr., all of Raton, New Mexico, and Michael Medina and wife Jackie of Pueblo, Colorado; siblings, Ida Garcia and husband Joe, Nasario Trujillo, Jr. (Sonny) and wife Ramos, and Lawrence Trujillo and wife Fabby all of Raton, Patsy Granado, Tony Trujillo and wife Debbie, and brother-in-law, Warren Kummer, all of California, and Roberta Bruns, of Moriarty, New Mexico. She is also survived three sister-in-law’s, Prudie Medina, Theresa Maes, and Martha Romero, of Colorado, 19 grand-children, 25 great grand-children, and 1 great, great grand-child; multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The viewing will be held at the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home on March 11, 2018, from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. The Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 2018, recited by Johnny Medina and Clara Ortega. Solemn Mass of The Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick’s/ St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, in Raton, New Mexico with Father C. John Brasher as the Celebrant Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements for Isabel M. Medina are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
