Immanuel Jesus Sintas, age 36, died Monday, August 28, 2017 in Clayton, New Mexico.
Memorial Services were held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 8, 2017 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Fe. C. John Brasher as Celebrant.
My brother Manny was born August 16th, 1981 to the parents of Theresa Irene Sintas and Robert Rael who are both now deceased.
We are here today to celebrate his short-lived life; Manny was a kind hearted soul who touched many hearts. He will be most remembered by his infectious laugh, cheesy smile and humorous personality. Not a day went by that he didn’t make someone feel special by sending a silly photo of him or a happy good morning. He was gentle and loving and had a heart of gold. He was most happy listening to music, smoking his ciggs, and enjoying a well cooked meal. He had a special relationship with God and was a frequent reader of the bible. When he moved here about a year ago, he joined the PSR group run by Sharon Gonzales. He much enjoyed spending time with his new friends, cooking, learning life skills and going on field trips out of town. His ultimate goal was to be brought back home to his hometown of Clayton where he was born and raised most of his life so that he could be closer to family; this was his home and at the end of his life, he was happy to have his own apartment, living independently.
He is survived by myself, his sister of Albuquerque, NM, my adopted family in Albuquerque, NM, his aunt Susan Sintas of Clayton NM, Anthony Sintas of Clayton, NM, family and many cousins in both Clayton and Pueblo Colorado, his PSR, Tri County and Golden Spread family, staff at the Clayton Housing Authority, and many friends who were near and dear to his heart. I am most thankful for our cousin Alaina Garcia who was an integral part of him moving back last year helping his ultimate dream to come home a reality.
He is now resting in peace with our mother Theresa, Nana, Grandpa and our Uncle Eddy. I end with something he last posted “The beginning is awesome yet let’s live like there wasn’t a tomorrow.” It will be a daily reminder to me that life should not be taken for granted because God takes us home when it’s our time. I love you Manny <3.
