Dolores Maldonado, 99, was born on March 30, 1917 in San Miguel, Colorado and received her heavenly wings on March 24, 2017.
Dolores was born to the union of Francisco and Juanita (Fernandez) Maldonado who proceed her in death. Dolores was also proceeded in death by her son, John Marvin Maldonado, grandchildren, Kimberly N. Trujillo, John David Maldonado, infant great-granddaughter Dolores Maldonado, 10 siblings along with many relatives and loved ones.
Dolores is survived by a son, Robert Sánchez, grand children Vanessa Maldonado, Valerie Maldonado (Silver Miera), Victoria Maldonado, Angel S. Trujillo (Nicole Valdez), 15 great grandchildren, daughter in law Kathryn Maldonado. Dolores is also survived by three very special nieces, Christine Tavella, Lillian Flores, and Gertrude Gonzales, sister Ramona Dominguez, along with many other nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to friend and loving caregiver Sherry Cordova, and Jamie Sánchez, for taking such good care of Nana, and Sangre de Cristo Hospice for the quality care and support they provided.
Dolores had a strong faith and spent her life caring for others, whether it was family, friends or neighbors. She was famous for her soulful cooking and made sure nobody ever left hungry. She loved spending time with family and always made everyone feel special. Nana touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by all.
We will celebrate Dolores’s life , which would have been her 100th birthday, with Rosary on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 9AM at Comi Chapel followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 AM at Holy Trinity Church.
Inurnment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
