Rubel Garcia, age 87, passed away at the Trinidad Inn Nursing Home ion March 21, 2017.
He was born in Mora, NM on January 29,1930 to Beatrice (Sanchez) and Apolonio Garcia.
Rubel was a hard worker most of his life having worked in coal and manganese mines, as a logger and as a migrant farmer in Rocky Ford and San Luis Valley.
He was a good mechanic and liked working on equipment.
He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Preceding him in death are parents, Beatrice and Apolonio Garcia, daughter in law, Gina Jennifer LeBlanc, and former wife Mary Pilar Garcia.
Survivors are his children, Rio (Renee) Garcia, Richard Garcia and fiancée Olga Olguin, Doris (Anthony) Aparicio, David (Flo) Garcia, Dolly Garcia, Sandra McClain, Grace (Ume) Gohl, Ruby Marabella, Beatrice Garcia, Linda Garza (David Tews), numerous grandchildren, , nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2PM-7PM at the Comi Chapel.
Funeral Services will be Friday, March 31, 2017 , with Rosary at 9Am at Comi Chapel followed by the Funeral Mass at 10AM at Holy Trinity Church.
Interment will be held later that afternoon at the San Luis Cemetery.
