Dorothy C. Battistone, passed away March 16, 2017 at the Trinidad Inn Nursing Home. She was 92.
Dorothy was born on October 30, 1924, to Olive (Cornella) and Domenic Bonato.
She attended school in Sopris, Colorado.
On November 16, 1942, Dorothy was united in marriage to Anthony (Tony) Battistone in Trinidad, CO.
She enjoyed taking rides, looking at the deer in Tercio, going to Cripple Creek, taking care of her beautiful lawn and dancing. She also made a delicious meal of Polenta and rabbit.
She was an avid Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos fan.
Dorothy looked forward to getting her hair done weekly with her sister Edith, something she continued doing, after her sister’s passing.
A woman of faith, Dorothy prayed daily. Her granddaughters were her pride and joy, and she loved attending their school, sports and dancing events .
She will be missed by all those who were fortunate to have her in their lives.
Preceding her in death are parents, Olive and Domenic, beloved husband Tony, son Ernie, siblings, Edith Vecellio, Josephine (Victor) Machietto ,Antoinette (John) Coszalter, Angie (Tony) Valenti, Jim (Carmella) Bonato, Albert (Mary) Bonato, brother and sisters in law, Johnny (Kay) Battistone, Eva Battistone and Pierina Hughes.
Left to cherish her memory is daughter JoAnn(James) LePlatt, , granddaughter Olivia (David) Bachicha, great granddaughters, Adrianna Bachicha, Victoria Bachicha, sister, Sister Olivia Marie Bellegante, all of Trinidad, nieces, nephews, cousin other relatives and many friends.
