Jose (Henry) Santistevan fell asleep in death at his home in Starkville, CO on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the age of 80.
Henry was born in Sopris, CO to Cleotilde (Lopez) and Brigido Santistevan on August 27, 1936.
He graduated from Sopris High School in 1956.
He was united in marriage to Nancy Elkins for 48 beautiful years. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Henry was baptized in 1973 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Because of his strong faith, he loved to share his belief at every opportunity.
Henry had much pleasure in gardening, making wind chimes and carpentry.
He worked for Trinidad Housing Authority for 28 years until his retirement.
He will be remembered for his compassion, love and caring heart that he gave to everyone.
Henry was preceded in death by his loving wife, mother and father, sister Rose LeBlanc, sister Jenny Garcia, brothers Alfred and Eloy Santistevan and granddaughter Jeannie Sanchez.
Henry is survived by daughters Debbie (Alan) Martinez, Diane (Henry) Gonzales, brothers Arthur and Delphino Santistevan, sister Ercie Vigil and sister-in-law Rose Santistevan. Also surviving is one grandchild, six great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren, which includes his little sweetie Vashti Sanchez and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, December 16, 2016 at 1 PM at Kingdom Hall with Brother Joe Nash Vigil officiating.
