Vaunita Daves, age 95, died Monday, September 26, 2016, in Clayton, New Mexico.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 30, at the Clayton Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Billy Rammage officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.
Vaunita (Green) Daves was born on December 5, 1920 in Texhoma, Oklahoma to Ray Dailey Green and Nellie Frances (Gafford) Green.
She married Floyd Daves on January 4, 1940 in Clayton, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on march 23, 2011. They moved to Kansas where Vaunita owned and operated a beauty shop for several years. They later moved to Rawlins, Wyoming and then to Dumas, Texas until Floyd retired and they returned to Clayton in the early 1980’s.
In addition to her parents and husband, Vaunita was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Juanita Green in 1935 and Dora Mae Johnston on June 4, 1995, 3 brothers-in-law; Frank Daves, J. R. Webb and Pete Rice and 2 sisters-in-law; Verna Daves and Lois Webb.

1 DAUGHTER: Sandy Sturges and her husband Tom of Clayton, New Mexico.
1 SISTER-IN-LAW: Billie Depue of Clayton, New Mexico.
Nieces and Nephews: Glenna Cleveland and her husband Buzzy, John Johnston and his wife Kathy and Bill Daves and his wife Denise all of Clayton, New Mexico, Frankie Rifesteck of Denver, Colorado, Bob Johnston and his wife Jennifer of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Donna Harris and her husband Johnny and Patsy Milligan and her husband Carey all of Dumas, Texas and Lloyd Webb and his wife Carol Ann of Lander, Wyoming.
And numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and other extended family members.
