Raton City Police responded to a report of person shot in the 1200 block of East 4th Street on Sunday, August 14th shortly before 11 pm. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim, identified as Charles Romero, Jr., age 20, suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper chest and face. Raton EMS responded and Romero was transported to MCMC where he later was pronounced dead shortly before midnight. An autopsy has been ordered by the Office of the Medical Investigator.
According to Raton Police Chief John Garcia, witnesses identified the suspects and warrants have been issued for the arrest of Adrian Duran and Louis Duran.
Adrian Duran aka “Pelon” is described as 5’ 2”, 120 lbs, with brown hair and hazel eyes and is wanted on charges of murder in the first degree and tampering with evidence.
Louis Duran aka “Brown Boy”, is described as 5’9”, 165 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes and has been charged with conspiracy to commit first degree murder, tampering with evidence and felon in possession of a firearm.
The suspects were last seen driving a red 1992 Pontiac van with a New Mexico license plate MWP 743.
